Auto battler

A strategy game where each round you buy units and place them on a board, and then the fight against another team plays out on its own, without your input. The challenge lies in the preparation, in choosing which units to combine and where to put them.

    Dota Auto Chess, a community-made mode for Dota 2 released in January 2019, gave rise to the genre; Legion TD, from the late 2000s, is a forerunner.
